Ang Mo kio Condominiums and Apartments

Ang Mo Kio Master Plan

Ang Mo Kio exudes a certain warmth and homeliness that can only come from an established estate. Yet, residents here also enjoy modern levels of comfort and efficiency. Over the next few years, residents will benefit from better facilities and recreation options, improved transport connectivity, as well as more jobs close to home.

How towns are planned

Our towns are planned with a comprehensive range of facilities to meet the needs of current and future residents. These include housing, shops, schools, libraries, sports facilities, community clubs and parks – all important in ensuring a liveable, self-sufficient town.

The facilities are carefully distributed across each town to ensure good accessibility, supported by an efficient transport network. Most towns also have commercial nodes and other employment centres such as industrial estates and business parks within the town or nearby, to provide job opportunities close to homes.

These facilities and employment centres will be developed according to demand.

Housing: Living up to new aspirations

As a mature housing estate, Ang Mo Kio remains an attractive location for potential home owners because of its abundance of amenities and shopping facilities, ease of transport and enviable proximity to recreation spaces and employment clusters. It is also popular with young families who wish to live near their parents. Besides providing new homes in new areas, additional facilities will be built and existing amenities upgraded to create a high-quality living environment tailored to the needs of residents:

  • A redeveloped Ang Mo Kio Polyclinic at Ang Mo Kio Central 2
  • A redeveloped Kebun Baru CC at Ang Mo Kio Avenue 4
  • A nursing home at Ang Mo Kio Avenue 1/Avenue 8 junction
  • Estate Upgrading Programme for Mayflower Estate and Yio Chu Kang Gardens Estate

Leisure: New reasons to go out and get active

With easy access to regional and community parks, as well as to the Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park and Lower Pierce Reservoir, residents in Ang Mo Kio have no lack of options when it comes to enjoying the outdoors.

To bring nature closer to residents, more green spaces will be implemented in the coming years. Residents can also get active and fit with more recreational options:

  • An extended park connector along Ang Mo Kio Avenue 5
  • A cycling network within Ang Mo Kio

Transport: Less time spent on travelling

Already well served by two MRT stations, two bus interchanges, two expressways and a good road network, Ang Mo Kio will see further improvements to public transport services and roads that will make travelling within the town and to other parts of Singapore even faster and more convenient, including:

  • Two new MRT stations (Lentor and Mayflower) on the Thomson Line will allow for faster travel between the town and the city by 2021
  • The Cross Island Line, which will pass through Ang Mo Kio when it starts operations by 2030, will serve as an alternative east-west MRT route
  • The North-South Expressway, to be completed around 2020, which will shorten travel times between the city and Ang Mo Kio, as well as northern parts of Singapore
  • A widened Ang Mo Kio Street 13

Economy: More jobs near home

Ang Mo Kio currently offers plenty of employment opportunities with its many commercial and industrial developments allowing residents to enjoy short commutes to work. More jobs will be created within existing industrial parks, with new developments such as:

  • A new industrial complex at Ang Mo Kio Industrial Park 3
  • Redevelopment of existing industrial buildings at Tagore Industrial Park
